What are Dental implants?
Implants are a replacement for your natural tooth, they are made from titanium which (amazingly) the human body does not recognise as a foreign object, in fact once in place your bone will 'integrate' totally with the new implant and accept it as part of you.
Once the dental implants are placed we usually wait for between 3-6 months for everything to heal then we can start to restore the impkant with a natural tooth replacement, these are shaped and colour-matched to your other teeth, making it virtually impossible to tell the difference.
Dental Implants with Dentures
If you currently have a denture that you are happy with the look of, but it wobbles around when you try to eat, then dental implants can be used to stabilise your denture. If this is the case then we often use either 2 or 4 dental implants to stabilise a denture, adding clips to the inside of your existing denture.
A brand new denture for yoru implants can also be made if required.
