Dental Crowns
Do you feel your teeth are dark and ugly?
Perhaps you have large grey amalgam fillings that look unsightly?
Over old crowns with dark grey/black edges?
Dental crowns are full coverage 'new teeth' which are used to cover up the old tooth with a bright new outside layer.
The dental crowns from our Sheffield practice come in 2 main forms:
- Dental Crowns With Metal
- Dental Crowns Without Metal or Metal Free Crowns
Our highly skilled technicians will craft your new tooth so that is looks exactly as you wish, and we will decide together which is the bext type of crown (or cap) to use in your mouth.
So if you want more confidence, more comfort and want to feel great about your teeth, in a health centred dental practice, then dental crowns from S10 Dental are for you.

How are Dental Crowns made?
We start by a comprehensive healthy mouth review to establish the exact type of treatment (if any) required.
If it is found that you need to have crowns a full treatment plan of what we suggest will then be provided for you.
Once you are happy with the plan we will proceed to reduce the tooth or existing crowns to make space for the new ones.
A dental impression is then made of the 'stump' and is sent to our Sheffield Dental laboratory for them to make the final crown.
After about 2 weeks the dental laboratory will return the crowns to us and we will make an appointment for them to be permanently fitted.
What are dental crowns made of?
Metal Free Crowns are made of dental ceramic and often include zirconia, this is the material that hip replacements are made from, so is very strong.
Crowns that have metal will often have either gold, or base metal alloy such as cobalt chrome. Both these metals are inert and are completely biocompatible.
